After being in Crossfit for a year, I began to plateau. Body weight movements came with ease but I experienced difficulty moving effectively around the barbell, which hindered me from RX’ing many workouts. I had limited overhead stability and lacked ideal form on many barbell movements despite lifting weights in high school and college. I contacted Sport and, after sending her the 1-rep maxes she requested, she tailored a strength and overhead stability program for me. The programming really breaks down the movements and helps one become more comfortable and confident with them, not to mention it only takes about an hour each day.Improvements were quickly noticed. I gained 8 pounds in 7 weeks and was able to RX many more workouts each week than before. With Sport’s programming, I saw a 40 lb increase in my back squat and a 45 lb increase in my overhead squat in just 8 weeks! After re-testing almost all of my 1-rep maxes in weeks 8-15, every one increased by at least 15 pounds. Lindsay Sport is able to understand the reasoning behind one’s weaknesses and put together a program that builds upon those weaknesses to ultimately eliminate them. She takes pride in her formula and is constantly improving it, which is something all great coaches must do. Now, at week 16, I have exceedingly more overhead stability, strength, and can RX almost any workout thrown my way. Sport’s programming is challenging, but results come quickly and surely. In my 9 years of working out, I have never experienced such improvement, and in such little time, as I have with Lindsay Sport’s programming.
I have been involved with CrossFit for years, and recently decided to take a break. I was concerned I would no longer see improvement with my physique. I sought out Lindsay to provide me with an individual strength and conditioning program! I can't begin to explain how happy I am with the results. I have been able to work on my own from different facilites, im seeing huge body composition changes, and I always look forward to the workouts. I am going on my third month w her and I cant wait to see even more improvement!
I have known Lindsay for many years, and have gone through my own peaks and valleys with fitness. However, once I started to notice the incredible impact she was having with every single one of her clients, I decided to buckle down and see what she could do for me too. I asked Lindsay to give me a baseline nutrition plan and utilized her Program 3 alongside my normal Crossfit training. I cannot believe I did not come on board sooner!! I had previously been working with a widely known nutrition company paying 4 times as much as what Lindsay charges, and had to fight for almost six months to lose two-three pounds. Once I started working with Linds, I immediately started to see and feel a difference. Not only am I now down over ten pounds and hit my goal weight, but I am also consistently setting weightlifting personal records. In addition, my gymnastic skills have come farther in the last few months than they have from over six years of just Crossfit training on my own. I know I still have so many more goals to hit but I am beyond confident in Lindsay's ability to get me exactly where I want to be!!
I first came to Lindsay because I had some injuries start to pile up and gradually the things that used to just be minor tweaks became bigger issues. The biggest problem for me wasn’t the physical discomfort, it was more about getting my confidence back. At a certain point, it gets to be a head game.
That’s really what I appreciate the most about working with Lindsay. For one thing, I know she’s been there and understands first hand what it is to work through an injury and maintain a positive trajectory. What was also really important was that she knew how to develop the program around my individual needs. She’s been a keen observer and listener, but then is also able to marry that with deep knowledge and experience to address my weaknesses systematically.
I think the most important thing for me is that having a level of trust in her and her approach allows me to just focus on the work and keep the inevitable doubts and anxiety that go along with injury to a minimum. It’s made all the difference.
I met Lindsay at just the right time. I was in a low place mentally and physically. I was the heaviest I have ever been after several miscarriages and a failed IVF attempt. Lindsay gave me the motivation and support that I needed to start my path to getting healthy. Since my time with Lindsay I have run numerous 5ks, 10ks, Half Marathons, a Marathon, and mud runs. She had/has a motto “never settle-train harder”. All throughout my training for these races I continued to repeat this motto. I am so thankful for my time that I had with Lindsay and am unsure if I would be were I am in my fitness journey without her.
A few years after having lapband surgery in November 2008, I decided I needed a little “push” in the weight training department. Weighing in at 330lbs before I had surgery I had lost a lot weight and needed help toning in those hard areas. I did not know how to train effectively. I had been in the local gym for years working out with my husband but I needed that something else - that EXTRA kick. Another local gym owner told me of a new trainer coming to town and low and behold I met Lindsay Sport. From the first time I met her we just clicked. We set goals as I wanted to be in my best shape by my 40th birthday. She made the workouts fun yet stringent. She modified movements if I was having any issues. She focused on my strengths and weaknesses to improve in each area. She made working out addictive again. I finally felt confident and was in the best shape I could imagine. Her passion for what she does, her knowledge and her compassion about her clientele is a hard combination to find.
